Baby Has Arrived

Baby Afelskie finally showed up today at 3:32 pm, after a false start last evening. Elena and Dave went to the hospital last night around 8 pm; because Elena delivers quickly, they set off at the first sign of labour.

Unfortunately, the labour slowed down and almost stopped, and didn't get going until late this morning.

The baby boy is healthy, mom is well, baby Afelskie is 7 lbs, 14 oz., he is long like his brothers, and the name is not revealed yet. Dave was about to tell me over the phone, but I thought he should tell the other children in person tonight when he comes home.

Thank God for a good birth, a healthy baby, and grateful parents.
Julie (Elena's mom)

__I__ was rooting for an emergency C-section. Lots of blood and gore and cord wrapped around Momma's neck style drama. Suction cups and forceps. You know, something to keep the readers interested. She had four really quick, easy deliveries, but five is a tough hurdle to cross -- knocks lots of posers off their high horses. This one was a doosie ... etc., etc.

Very exciting. You guys should change your last names to Smith or something. B_O_R_I_N_G!

Bienvenidos Isaac. Aprenede Espanol, lo nececitaras quando huyes a Tejas en buscanza de la libertad.

Uncle Nate (sleepin' on the couch after this one -- so the best you'll get is floor when you show up. At least it's Texas floor.)

Hey, welcome baby A..very happy to hear of your arrival and everyone in Halifax is happy to hear of such a quiet arrival...don't worry about 'Texas' they are more dramatic by nature..it is the heat!

Hooray and praise God all went well! And how providential it was that we just happened to run into Dave in Renfrew yesterday to get the news hot off the press!

Praying for you Mama now as you rest, snuggle up and enjoy that new sweet boy. I can't wait to see him! Love to you all!
