Another Year

I thought I should acknowledge another birthday around these parts. I turned 33 on the 22nd of this month. Yesterday I went sledding with the kids and felt every one of those 33 years. (Forgive the repeated pictures: blogger is being belligerent and not letting me erase photos.)Dave made the cake from scratch. It was better than any cake that I have ever made. Plus, the "33" on the cake is ingenius.
Picking noses is allowed on your mom's birthday.
Isaac is wearing Ben's least favourite sleeper. In Ben's words, with a look of extreme distaste: "I like all of Isaac's clothes except for that crazy one with all the snowmen."

That first photo of you, wow the resemblance to Rebecca is uncanny. Same face shape, same smile - different colouring.

you know how i feel about multiples of 11. Auspicious ages, all. I am sure it will be a wonderful year. And yeah, the 33 on the cake is good.

Mom, I could kiss you for that comment, because my first thought when I saw that photo was, "pout, pout. How come she is so much prettier than I?"

the resemblance to r struck me as well - even the expression. funny how we all got coloured in differently and how age has changed us into sisters.

Happy Birthday Elena,

Ok, warning to some this may be too much information... I was looking at your pictures and marvelling at how wonderful you look. Seriously, you don't look any older than our NET days. And then I remembered that my Billings teacher (Jordan and I are becoming Billlings instructors) swears that with every child your cervix gets younger and thus makes you look younger, which is probably why you look so young still. I hope I look that good at 5 kids (God willing I get to 5). Sorry this is so long. And sorry if I offended anyone with the cervix talk. I do this all the time.

Theresa, That commented made me laugh. I took the Billings instructor's course shortly before Dave and I married. It still remains one of the most fascinating subjects that I jave ever studied - partly because our biology is so indicative of God's order and design. And, like you, I often bring up cervixes in the wrong conversation circles. Also, that cervix fact is one that I have used many times - with every child the cervix gets younger/healthier by a year and with every year on the Pill the cervix ages two. (Is that what you have learned?) Thus, having children helps you have children. AHHH:) I think we need to talk on the phone and catch up.
