The Nunettes

Today marks the official date of departure for my Mom and my sister, Sr. Ilaria of Jesus (The Joy/Laughter of Jesus). In Hannah's words, "I sure am gonna miss you." We all had loads of fun and Hannah especially enjoyed spending time with her Aunt. Little Hannah looked with envy at the Franciscan habit and on Wednesday night was allowed to don a mini version of the religious garb. Unfortunately, I can't find those pictures so you will have to be satisfied with pyjamas and a veil. Also, a video of a fiddling Sister and a step dancing mini-Sister might also keep you entertained. (Pardon the sound quality - those who have heard the good Sister play live know that she sounds a heck of a lot better in person.)

I cracked up when I saw that picture of Hannah! Also: does Joseph always wear that same pair of jammies? Or are they simply his version of Rhett's red dinosaur jammies, in that he only ever gets photographed in them?

Patrick, Noah and I just watched this with delight. Noah cooed at the wonderful sights and sounds of our dear friend be-habited. It's still so beautifully surreal to me.

Yeah Sr. Ilaria! Your fiddle playing is wonderful as always. I now understand the choice of name (did she choose it?). Martha's laugh brings lots of joy.

I wish I had a fiddle-playing Sister come visit me. Well not *a* fiddle-playing Sister - THAT fiddle-playing sister. It's nice to get a little update on Sister Ilaria!

Does your sister tour?!? :)

Also, what do your children use Aunt or Sister?

Helen,
No, she doesn't tour unless you count coming to visit us as the first and only stop. The kids call her Aunt Martha but in public we all try to refer to her as Sr. Ilaria (at least when the kids remember).
Rebecca,
Your comment made me dig through boxes in the basement for more pjs. Joe is now wearing polar fleece, light blue pjs with feet. He is very cute.
