I'd forgotten about these particularly maddening stages of babyhood: The absolute delight in finding the dog's food and water every single morning.
How could you possibly be upset with me, Mom? (Rebecca, something about Mariana's eyes reminds me of Miriam. What do you think?)
The "open the drawer and pull everything out and then leave really fast" stage. She's days shy of 11 months and I already know that if she's too quiet, I need to worry.
That's why God makes babies so darn cute: we can't help but put up with them! I just heard the faint sound of the bottom row of the bookshelf being torn apart - total baby glee.

It's not just her eyes. She looks just like Miriam. She's a bit sturdier (Miriam has always been teeeeeny, but then she didn't walk as early as Mariana), but I find they look very very similar. Nathan agrees. Does she have blue eyes too?
Ah yes, that stage! I have always maintained that 14 to 20 months is the most exasperating age for this reason...pulling things out of cupboards, off shelves, etc. Oh and that's when my kids get antsiest at Mass. Since Mariana is mobile so early, she might be hitting that milestone faster than my kids. But yes, she has the cutest face -- just so game for anything -- that we can overlook the chaos :)
