All the grandchildren

When my older sister and husband arrived in town, they stopped at our house where our children were anxiously waiting to meet their Uncle Nathan and many of their cousins for the first time.
My dad sat very quietly in the corner.  When I asked him if he was alright, he replied, "I think this is the happiest day of my life."  Indeed:  three daughters, two sons-in-law and twelve grandchildren are a source of much happiness.
On one of the last days of togetherness, we attempted photos of the grandchildren.  Isaac was completely uncooperative.  No amount of cajoling, peer pressure or discipline could force a smile.
Until Uncle Nathan yelled, "On the count of three, everybody say POO."  Amazing what the mention of bodily fluids can do to the mood of a five-year-old boy.  From left to right:  Front row:  Rhett, Joseph, Jasper; middle row: Isaac, Sarah, Miriam, Hannah and Mariana; back row:  Benjamin, Emeline, Clara, Jacob.
And then we tried one huge family shot ... and our photographer found the previously unknown Burst function on the iPhone and this is what we got.
