I apologise as I failed to post when I headed to the hospital ... but things moved way too fast on Wednesday night. In brief, my water broke at 8:45 pm, we headed to the local hospital to see if I could make it to Renfrew where I was supposed to deliver. The answer was no and I was put in an ambulance to Pembroke where I laboured for 50 minutes. We arrived at Pembroke at 10:40pm and the baby was born 6 minutes later. Dave made it just as her head appeared. I will write this all up later because, although slightly scary, there were also some very funny parts. (Look forward to an ER doctor who suffers from severe motion sickness placed in a speeding ambulance with a labouring mother.)
We struggled with naming this baby and when we finally decided I thought, We don't know very many people with that name. Then I realised that four readers of this blog have a daughter with the same name and one reader also shares the name. So, without further ado (and proving to my first cousins that we have an affinity for your daughters' names!), we introduce Sarah Elena Afelskie, born at 10:46pm on Wednesday, June 6th, 2012 at Pembroke General Hospital, 8lb 3.5 oz, 20 inches.

Oh praise God! You have been on my heart and in my prayers almost constantly. I feel so full of joy for you all. Prayers of thanksgiving will be now coming your way. Great name choice too ;)
Love All the Robinsons
Welcome, baby Sarah!!! And congratulations to you, Dave and the other 5 Afelskies. I'm so happy to hear everything went well, in spite of the speeding ambulance... Looking forward to the pictures. Hope your recovery is speedy!
Praise God and a warm welcome to Sarah! I, too, am looking forward to seeing her and hearing the funny parts of your story -- all birth stories should have some funny parts!
Congratulations! So happy for you all. I was going to send Erin an email to see what was up with you. :) God bless you all!
Wonderful news Elena but I have to confess that I was privy to an earlier update from Jacob's Godmother, Anne-Marie. Sarah looks beautiful. Looking forward to the whole story and hearing about how Isaac likes sharing the spotlight.
She is beautiful Elena! And her name is just perfect...we were wondering if you would end up with a Sarah as it works so well with your other children's names! We cannot wait to meet her precious self and to hear more of how things went. When Scott told me that he saw you at the 4:30 Mass (and informed him of the frequency of contractions), I said to him, "She's going to be having that baby in the car!" I guess I wasn't that far off.
Blessings on all of you and prayers for an easy (as possible) transition into being a family of 8! Hannah must be over the moon with joy!
Praise God for baby Sarah! She is very beautiful and I am so happy she is here. What a lovely name too.
Also YOU look stunning in your pictures.
I will be praying for your recovery.
Congrats Elena!
Wonderful news! We`ll be praying for you.

Congratulations! Sarah looks to be a beautiful addition to your family.
She looks so cute! The name is wonderful - great choice. Princess!
I actually like how names repeat themselves in our family: Hannah/Hana, Rebecca, Ruth, Elena, Sarah/Sara, Julie/Julia, Catherine/Kathryn ...
Looking forward to meeting her.
Such a blessing... what a beautiful baby - congrats! You all remain in our prayers... by the way... how is it you can be in labor, give birth and look THAT beautiful????!!!!
Great news, congratulations! Many, many blessings for Sarah and the whole family.
wonderful news! Sarah looks all together perfect and adorable! and you - a mother of six - and you shine!!!
Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear that baby girl made it safely to her mama's arms!! :) What a beautiful name. I'll be keeping you, Dave and the kids in my prayers as you go home and rest/carry on with family life.
I don't think you had a baby at all" you look great and were in Church on Sunday!
