Photo Update

I have been laid low, very low, by a flu that has taken up residence in my hips and lower back rendering me somewhat useless. Actually, somewhat useless is looking on the bright side. I am very close to completely useless. So here are some photos of Family Day, a provincially-mandated holiday here in Ontario, that happened last Monday. We went skating on the lake. A few days before this photo was taken temperatures shot up to around 12 degrees above freezing and we lost most of our snow. Thus, the spring-like conditions. A week later and the snow is back, as well as the cold; but it is almost March and there is room for hope.
I am too tired to decide which photos should stay and which should go. Take your pick.

Me, skating.
That little dot in the middle of the lake is Joseph. I should have taken a picture of Benjamin standing at the side yelling at the top of his lungs for his younger brother to stop risking his life and come back to shore. Actually, just return to the picture of Ben next to the tree at the top of this post and picture him shouting.
This is Joseph coming back to shore.
Don't try this when it's warm.

can't believe I'm still talking to you after the 'bee.'
get better soon!

I was wondering what you would think of the bee results. Jacob owes Sarah Grace as he wouldn't have won if she hadn't spelled difficulty incorrectly. I was there and it was tense - at least for me;) But, I was praying for them both and I wish that they could have tied. I took pictures of Sarah and I will post them. She had the cutest way of twisting her foot and spelling on her palm whenever it was her turn.

Great pics! I think we drove past ya'll that afternoon on our way down to Combermere. I say you guys skating and wished we could have joined you. I hope you feel better soon! Maybe we'll get together to skate before the winter is done (I finally went to the arena this past Sunday with a few of the littles).

Hope you can rest...let us know if you need anything.

she was proving difficulty, not trying to spell it, of course.

would love to see the pics!

kind of glad I wasn't there - it is stressful!

jacob deserves that, he is a smart cookie! cookey? kockey? gosh, good thing spelling skills aren't inherited!

Looks like fun! Our Family Day was spent - of course - in the hospital. And my poor, deprived children have never even seen a pair of skates in real life. *sigh*

We'd been hoping we might be able to come visit over the break (to introduce you to Elena and finally meet Isaac) but I just heard travel is in your plans for the week off. I will live vicariously. :)

Jaclyn, Travel is totally dependent on weather so if snow keeps us home you are more than willing to visit. We would love for Elena and Isaac to meet.
