Baptism
Sarah's godmother held little Sarah for her baptism as each time that I tried, Isaac would scream to be held. The little screamer got his way. Sarah was baptised on July 8th, a Sunday at 4pm.
Similarly to Isaac's baptism, Joseph insisted on biting the baptismal font.
Sarah was slightly apathetic about her momentous occasion. She had also recently lost most of her hairline during a bath; perhaps she was a little embarrassed about her hair loss.
The ringing of the bells upon the completion of the baptism.
My favourite photo of the baptism.
Fr. Joe Hattie is in the middle. He was one of the priests who married us 10 years ago and is now posted at OLSWA in Barry's Bay. My dad is on the right.
John and Susan, Sarah's godparents.
Dave and Elena, Sarah's parents.
The latest family photo. Looking through these pictures I realise that I have worn the same sandals to five of our children's baptisms. Why not six? Joe was baptised on Dec. 30th.
My dad and I. I am looking tired (which I was) - I seldom sleep well before a baptism.
The new normal.
Oh my goodness; it's about time
Pardon my absence. Partly new baby, partly Dave at home, partly a busy summer. Mostly photos on an iPad that didn't allow blogger access to its photos. Problem solved. Here are the pictures.
Dad came to visit with his Blackberry on which the kids found Angry Birds. Enough said. Dad's Blackberry tablet helped fuel Dave's desire for an iPad tablet which led to lots of talk about tablets for a couple of weeks. This coincided with the Birth of John the Baptist and the Gospel which read: "Elizabeth said, We will name him John ... and they passed his father a tablet upon which he wrote, His name is John." I spent the homily imagining new Apple campaigns.
Sarah at around 4 weeks.
A hot day cooling off at the splash pad in Pembroke.
Jacob's godparents came to visit after camping in Algonquin Park. Godmama.
Godpapa.
